DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Farm Show Complex Equipment Operator A, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment within the complex. Your responsibilities will include setting up, maintaining, and dismantling various events, while also ensuring that all equipment operates effectively and safely. In addition to equipment management, you will maintain the complex's grounds and facilities, which encompasses trash collection, custodial functions, general maintenance, and snow removal. The Farm Show Complex operates in a dynamic environment with deadlines, requiring your commitment to maintaining readiness and support for all events held at the facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Temporary, full-time employment, 40 hour work week
  • These positions are temporary, full time employment that run from September 2025 through the middle of May 2026 and will not be filled prior to July 12, 2025.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Shift differential is $1.25 an hour for 2ndshift), Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • On-site parking is provided.
  • This position may require overtime as needed.
  • This position is considered essential and as such is required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,660.00 or hourly rate of $18.05 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
