The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Psychiatry has an available Research Services Clinical Sciences Professional position in the Division of Addiction Science, Prevention, and Treatment. This position will support research projects in the Cannabis, Health, and Addiction Over the lifeSpan (CHAOS) lab (PI: Kent Hutchison, PhD). Our research is focused on understanding how cannabinoids like CBD and THC influence the endocannabinoid system which in turn influences the immune system and the brain. The CHAOS lab has current clinical trials investigating the effects of Cannabidiol (CBD) in varying subject populations, which include individuals with Alcohol Use Disorder and those at risk for Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Hutchison also serves as the director of the Rocky Mountain Cannabis Research Center (RM-CRC), a National Institute for Drug Abuse Center for Excellence at the University of Colorado. The mission of the RM-CRC is to accelerate research on the risks and benefits of cannabis and cannabinoids. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of clinical trials.
- Aid in the collection and processing of biological samples and data.
- Research visit coordination and conduct.
- Lead participant recruitment, communication, and scheduling.
- Perform data entry and quality assurance reviews on study databases.
- Assist lab manager with regulatory maintenance of assigned clinical trials (IRB and FDA initial submissions, amendments, continuing reviews).

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Entry Level:
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
Intermediate Level:
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- One (1) year of clinical research or related experience.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science (e.g. social, behavioral, or physical) or health related field (e.g. nursing or health care).
- Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems).
- Prior experience with regulatory submissions (IRB, FDA).
- Experience with REDCap or other data management systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems.
- Demonstrated initiative and strong follow-through skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as: Entry Level: $48,446 - $61,623 Intermediate Level: $52,721 - $67,061 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
