DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Field Investigator, you will have a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the community by conducting thorough furlough investigations and criminal records checks. Your work will involve maintaining detailed case files, preparing reports and correspondence to judges and facilities, and communicating investigative information effectively. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a logbook and contacting various agencies to gather information about potential risks and concerns regarding the re-entry of individuals on furlough. Your observations and input will be vital in identifying potential issues and informing staff about furlough considerations. In addition, as a Field Investigator, you will be responsible for reporting any suspicious, threatening, non-compliant, or abnormal behavior or situations that may arise during your investigations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week with approval once your training period has been completed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jenkintown.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public contact work, including two years of experience in field investigation or law enforcement work; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
