The opportunity:

The AVP of Underwriting will lead group underwriting for FullscopeRMS and set strategic direction. In this role you will manage a team of Underwriting Directors while being accountable for overall FullscopeRMS underwriting results and goal achievement. You are also responsible for underwriting relationships with key partner stakeholders and internal leadership.

How you will contribute:

  • Drive FullscopeRMS profitable growth through achievement of pricing targets and sales goals

  • Ensure department follows FullscopeRMS underwriting philosophies and guidelines

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales and underwriting leadership across all FullscopeRMS partners

  • Ensure governance policies and audit requirements are followed across the department

  • Oversee the ongoing development ofthe underwritingorganization

What you will bring with you:

  • Risk management and block oversight with ability to create actionable insights from complex data and metrics

  • Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills

  • Partner relationship development at the senior level

  • Ability to develop a high performance group benefits underwriting team

  • Establishes and drives high standards of UW performance

  • Proactively identify, initiate and oversee projects that improve underwriting effectiveness, efficiency and transparency

  • Ability to appropriately delegate and empower the team to drive best practices and leverage technology to improve performance and results

  • Group products underwriting expertise

  • Strategic planning

  • Ability to understand actuarial models and rate basis consultation

  • Capable of monitoring market trends and translating to consultative direction setting

  • Collaboration with IT, Actuarial, Claims, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.

  • 7+ years of group underwriting management experience with STD and LTD required and Absence, Life and Supp Health preferred

  • College degree preferred

  • Strong knowledge of group products

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically

  • Ability to work independently and address problems through own initiative

Salary:

Salary Range: $161,100 - $257,800

Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
