Job Description

Are you passionate about agricultural journalism and have a keen eye for detail? We're looking for someone just like you to join our editorial team at Farm Progress. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love the challenge of crafting compelling content for both print and digital platforms, this role could be your perfect fit.

What We're Looking For

As our Content Production Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our content creation process. We're seeking a skilled professional who can:

  • Juggle multiple tasks with ease, including editing several monthly magazines and daily web content
  • Collaborate seamlessly across departments to ensure our content shines on every platform
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table and contribute to our evolving content strategy

Your Day-to-Day Impact

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape the voice of Farm Progress by editing 3-4 monthly print magazines and daily web content
  • Be our guardian of quality, addressing potential legal and ethical concerns in our content
  • Craft engaging headlines that grab readers' attention in print and perform well in search engines
  • Lend your expertise to multimedia projects, ensuring our brand message is consistent across all channels
  • Navigate the technical aspects of content production, from InDesign layouts to content management systems
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team of editors, writers, and designers to produce top-notch agricultural content
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications
  • Provenexperience in print and online media
  • A thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and AP style (we'll put your skills to the test!)
  • Proficiency with Adobe CC (InDesign, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SEO and content management systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
  • The capacity to make quick, informed decisions under pressure
  • A detail-oriented approach and excellent multitasking abilities
  • Familiarity with agricultural or business topics is a plus, given Farm Progress's focus on the agricultural industry.
