Senior Quality Assurance Tester

Peraton is seeking a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester for the Department of Defense (DoD) DMDC Enterprise Law Enforcement Support Services (ELEs2)program. The Software Quality Tester is responsible for validating the functionality, reliability, and security of software systems developed and maintained DMDC) ELES2. Operating within an Agile development environment, the tester works closely with developers, business analysts, and system engineers to ensure that all software deliverables meet defined acceptance criteria, user requirements, and Department of Defense (DoD) compliance standards. The Software Quality Tester participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements review through final system acceptance. Responsibilities include executing manual and automated test cases, documenting defects, and verifying bug fixes to ensure seamless and secure functionality across mission-critical systems such as DBIDS, IMESA, and facial recognition platforms. The tester also supports regression testing during frequent sprint cycles and contributes to quality assurance documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
* Execute manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements.
* Review user stories and technical documentation to derive comprehensive test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
* Identify, document, and track defects using approved tools; verify fixes and perform regression testing during Agile sprint cycles.
* Collaborate with developers, analysts, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration and quality throughout the SDLC.
* Develop AI prompts for the creation of new automated test cases
* Develop AI prompts for the analysis of existing automated test cases
* Identity new data sources and libraries to feed AI scripts and prompts in support of AI assisted software testing
* Support Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups, to ensure continuous quality assurance engagement.
* Ensure all test activities comply with DoD policies, including Section 508 accessibility standards and DISA STIG compliance.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of test plans, test scripts, and quality assurance documentation.
* Provide timely and accurate feedback to development teams to support early issue resolution and continuous improvement.
* Perform validation testing for mission-critical systems including DBIDS, IMESA, and facial recognition tools supporting DoD physical security.
* Assist in developing and enhancing automated testing frameworks in alignment with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.

• Experience with manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements
• Experience with AI prompts for the creation of new automated test cases
• Strong foundation in:
  • Software testing methodologies
  • Test automation frameworks
  • Defect tracking processes
  • Experience in leveraging AI-enabled testing tools
  • Proficiency with AI-enhanced platforms such as AI-enabled Selenium, which uses machine learning for adaptive test execution and element recognition
  • AI-enabled Redwood, which supports self-healing test automation and intelligent error prediction
  • Requires the ability to design and execute comprehensive test cases for functional, regression, and performance testing across web and enterprise applications.

• Familiarity with Selenium AI/ML Layer Plugins uses such as:

  • Self-Healing Tests for automatically identifying and updating broken element locators (e.g., XPath/CSS changes) using visual recognition, DOM similarity, or historical test data.
  • Dynamic Element Identification to recognize UI elements even if their properties (ID, class) have changed.
  • Visual Testing to compare baseline screenshots using AI-driven image recognition to detect visual regressions.
  • Smart Test Generation to analyzes user flows, code changes, or logs to suggest or auto-generate new test cases.
  • Impact Analysis to predict which tests need to be rerun based on code or UI changes, reducing test cycles.
