Night Shift Differential - $4.00/hour
Paint Assistants support the painting operations for aircraft components and structures, ensuring all surfaces are properly prepared and finished to meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Essential Functions

- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed.
- Mix paints, primers, and other coatings according to specifications and manufacturer's instructions.
- Perform test such as viscosity on mixed paints.
- Print and maintain pot life stickers for each paint mixed.
- Maintain and clean painting tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist in moving and arranging materials and equipment.
- Conduct quality checks on painted surfaces to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Help with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure proper adhesion of paint and coatings by performing surface preparation tasks meticulously.
- Perform touch-ups and repairs as needed.
- Anticipate the painters' needs and perform all necessary duties to ensure they can remain in the paint booth.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Regular attendance on-site at the work site is required
Required Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Previous experience in an aerospace, automotive, or industrial painting environment.
Other Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and coatings used in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with spray painting equipment and techniques.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills (English).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties
- Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
- Periodically lift overhead and carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
- Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
- Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
- Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate machine and material handling controls
- Accurately distinguish colors to respond to sensors, indicators, and color-variable dashboards
- Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices
Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:
- Moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection may be required).
- Dust, smoke, fumes, and vapors (PPE such as masks or respirators may be needed).
- Extreme hot or cold temperatures (occasionally).
- Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is required
