Summary
The Practice Group Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Area Team (PAT). This role is designed to enable PAT leaders to focus on leading the practice team and practicing law by managing day-to-day administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, and capable of ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Practice Area Team Support:
Build and maintain key relationships with leaders, partners, and associates within the PAT to understand and address their business needs.
- Schedule and prepare agendas for PAT meetings, including comprehensive briefing materials, pre-reads, presentations, itineraries, and other necessary documents.
- Function as a liaison with other administrative departments (e.g., Learning & Development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Knowledge Management, Marketing & Business Development, Accounting, Legal Recruiting, Conflicts) to provide information, data, and key metrics that support firmwide and practice-specific initiatives.
Attorney Administrative Support:
- Provide complex and dynamic scheduling and calendar support for assigned lawyers.
- Coordinate time entry and client bills, generate monthly internal utilization reports, provide monthly and/or quarterly estimate reporting data, analyze billing data, and respond to miscellaneous client inquiries/requests.
- Process new business forms, new client/matter reports, and conflicts of interest checks.
- Maintain a roster of billing arrangements for key clients.
- Coordinate U.S. & Foreign complex travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, transfers, itineraries, and necessary visa documentation.
- Manage expense reports in line with firm expense policies.
Client Relationship Management:
- Communicate directly with and build/maintain relationships with key high-profile clients of the Privacy and Cybersecurity practice.
- Work with clients, key stakeholder Legal Secretaries, and other support staff teams to provide and coordinate proactive support to the partners.
- Attend client functions as needed, which may require flexibility to work outside of scheduled work hours.
Special Projects:
- Manage special projects as assigned by PAT leaders, including creating and updating matter trackers, drafting engagement letters, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
- Assist with business development activities, including organizing events, managing correspondence, and updating business development trackers.
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. Target Salary Range
$73,000 - $107,000 if located in Washington, D.C.

- Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred:
- Preferred: Administrative experience and the ability to type 50 WPM.
