Duties, Responsibilities & Other
KCI is hiring a Project Manager 5 to join our Building Structures team in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
Qualified candidates will be well versed in structural design software, AutoCAD/Revit, and building design.
- Must have experience managing building structural engineering projects
- Must have field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required. Structural Engineering (SE) license a plus. NCEES registration a plus and the ability to obtain licenses in other states is required.
Skills, Duties & Responsibilities
- Multi-tasker with ability to perform building and building-related structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures. Must be able to develop own construction documentation using AutoCAD. Will lead project team and work with other disciplines. Able to use Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam/Adobe. Experience with Autodesk Revit and RISA is preferred.
- Provide mentoring, technical development, and general oversight of junior staff.
- QA/QC calculations, drawings, reports, and other documentation produced by others to ensure accuracy and code compliance.
- Plan workload, track and meet budgets for structural tasks/projects.
- Maintain existing client relationships.
- Candidate must have worked on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services.
- Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required. A solid background of reliability, commitment to task and project completion and success is required.
Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required: * Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 2 years of related professional experience, or 6 years of equivalent professional experience. * Participation in continuing education and professional development programs. * Possess potential leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams. * Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders. * Technical knowledge in the specific field of the project. * Knowledge of project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation. * Understanding of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols. * Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. * Negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively. * An understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation. Education and/or Work Experience Preferred: * Master's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required: * Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
