SUMMARY

The Public Safety Program Manager, reporting to Regional or Executive Director, leads and manages the administrative functions of its Public Safety division. This role emphasizes a combination of project management and strategic administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of public safety programs, services, and initiatives. The Program Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and government agencies to implement and oversee projects that contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administrative Management: Oversee the daily administrative operations within the Public Safety department, including the preparation of reports, documentation, and internal communications. Manage the scheduling of meetings, presentations, and special events.
  • Program Oversight: Ensure that public safety programs and initiatives are implemented according to budget, timelines, and established goals. Provide administrative support to the program development, execution, and assessment phases.
  • Budget and Financial Tracking: Assist with the preparation and tracking of program budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting. Ensure that projects remain within scope and within allocated financial resources.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to regulatory and policy standards governing public safety programs. Review and maintain necessary records for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Team Support: Provide administrative support to program staff, including scheduling, coordination of resources, and tracking of key deliverables. Serve as a point of contact for inquiries regarding program operations.
  • Data and Reporting: Analyze and track program data, preparing regular reports to stakeholders. Present data-driven insights and recommendations for improving program effectiveness.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate cross-departmental projects related to public safety, ensuring effective communication, timeline adherence, and issue resolution.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


JOB DESCRIPTION



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Experience in budget management and financial tracking.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but can be substituted with 10 years of experience.
  • Work Experience: 5 years of program management or administrative experience, preferably within public safety, government, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Machines, Tools, Equipment: Able to operate basic laptop utilizing Microsoft, office equipment, e.g. photo copier, fax machine, scanner, PC, telephone, etc.


Salary Range: Minimum $40.39/hour - Maximum $64.63/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
