Broadwind Energy has an opening in our Abilene plant for a Burn Table Operator. This position is on our B Shift - 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday. This shift also come with a $2/hr shift differential. Interested? Keep reading.

In this role you will be responsible for burning plate and parts in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing both burn table equipment and burn table work instructions in addition to beveling plate to customer specifications using knowledge of metal fabrication and engineering requirements.

*Burn plate programs and miscellaneous jobs out of various materials
*Create programs in Shape Manager
*Bevel plate, cut thick plate and set up O2 on burn tables
*Cut scrap with O2/Fuel hand torch
*Clean and de-burr plate
*Perform preventative maintenance, inspect equipment and report issues
*Operate overhead crane
*Complete daily inspection of rigging equipment
*Complete CRLW log and record job and section as required
*Complete all other duties as assigned

Qualifications we look for:
High School Diploma

*Two years of welding experience or, completion of an accredited 2-year welder's training program
*Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality, raw materials and other techniques, methods and tools involved in the process of fabricating steel support structures.
*Ability to efficiently and independently use the plasma and O2/fuel burn tables, beveling equipment, hand torch, hand grinder, hand scraper, sledge hammer, pneumatic hammer, tape measure and caliper to perform tasks associated with position.
*Able to locate and reference all work instructions pertaining to current job or project.
*Sense of urgency and accountability.
*Able to be forklift and crane certified.
*Vision certified Jaeger #2 and pass VT written test.
*We complete drug screening prior to hire and conduct random drug tests.
*We have expectations around attendance, tardiness and quality of work
