Bigger, Better, Broadwind! How big is the project and how thick is the steel? We build things most companies can't even move! Broadwind Energy has openings in our Abilene, TX plant for welders in Clip and Clean. These are direct hire positions for quality welders on our 2nd shift which is Monday-Friday from 6 pm to 3 am. This is steady work (no ups and downs like oil and gas) with good overtime and even better benefits including insurance, paid vacation and paid holidays. Keep reading for more! Themore you understand of the points below, the better fit you are for this opportunity: * Weld qualification tests are done on 1-inch material. Welders must be comfortable laying down a quality weld on material that is minimally 1 inch. * Have you consistently run beads 18 inches or more? A competent welder should have no problem running a quality bead of at least 2 feet. Comfortable with multi-pass welding. Our projects call for welds larger than we can achieve in a single pass, so welders must "stack" them to achieve proper sizes. * Comfortable with multi-pass welding.
