Title: Technical Checker

Location: Pascagoula, MS

General Function

The Technical Checker is responsible for ensuring technically accurate and high-quality drawings and design documents for assigned projects using advanced drafting and checking techniques. This role involves reviewing complex layouts, engineered designs, 3D models, and diagrams derived from departmental specifications and guidance. A key focus will be ensuring the accuracy and quality of C5ISR deliverables.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

The following represent the core responsibilities of the role. This is not an exhaustive list:

* Quality Assurance for C5ISR Products

o Review both functional and production-level C5ISR outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.

o Key product areas include:

* Cable routing

* Wireway reservations

* Foundations

* Space arrangements

* Technical Accuracy and Delivery

o Work closely with department leadership to ensure all deliverables are accurate, complete, and submitted to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) on schedule.

* Mentorship and Internal Quality Control

o Mentor designers on quality assurance procedures and best practices.

o Promote adherence to internal control standards throughout the design process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* AutoCAD Expertise:

o Minimum of 10 years of experience using AutoCAD in a design or QA environment.

* Electrical Design QA Experience:

o At least 5 years focused on electrical design quality assurance.

* Software Proficiency:

o Experience with Navisworks and SSI ShipConstructor is highly desirable.

* C5ISR Domain Knowledge:

o Familiarity with shipboard communication and control systems and their integration in ship designs.
