POSITION SPECIFICS

The Pennsylvania State University seeks a Senior Claims Specialist (Risk Management Specialist) to manage and administer insurance claims and incidents for the University and the University's health system.This position will be responsible for moderately complex multi-line commercial casualty and property related claims, including insurance litigation management. The Senior Claims Specialist also assists University Risk Managers in risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation activities; and assists in the implementation of system-wide incident and claim workflows, policies/procedures, and best practices.

Primary position duties include litigation management by working with outside counsel, Penn State's Office of General Counsel, and University leadership to coordinate the full litigation life-cycle; risk management identification, education, and mitigation; and coordination of claims investigation, reporting, and administration.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The successful candidate for this position will serve as a risk management and claims expert and must demonstrate knowledge of broad concepts, policies and procedures related to risk management, claims coordination, and litigation.They must possess:

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Prior commercial insurance and/or commercial claims related experience is required. Insurance designation(s) such as CPCU, ARM, AIC, etc. are preferred.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $97,100.00 - $145,700.00.
