Under the direction of the Recovery Manager, perform a variety of duties relating to foreclosed real estate, bankruptcies, estates, repossessions, collateral claims, and the collection of charged-off loans. Duties involve coordinating with attorneys and working with third-party vendors on repossessions and liquidations. Recovery activity may also include skip tracing to locate members by utilizing available collection tools, contacting charged-off members, encouraging re-payment, documenting collection activity, processing repossessed property, and maintaining applicable records and reports. The collection process is conducted in accordance with credit union policy, bankruptcy code, legal regulations, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and governing state laws. Additional: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable). Qualifications: Education: Equivalent to high school diploma plus additional specialized training in credit and collection practices, and regulations equal to two years of technical college. Experience: Seven to ten years business experience including, credit and collections practices and profit and loss recovery. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good verbal communications, interpersonal skills, analytical ability, organizational skills, skip tracing Excel, Word or other similar applications.
