Position Description

Employees in this classification are responsible for the performance of manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

About the Department and/or College

The National Ranching Heritage Center is an indoor/outdoor museum located at 3101 4th St.

Major/Essential Functions

• Cleaning is done according to standards set by the department.
• Proper methods and procedures should be followed at all times in all areas with consistent accuracy.
• Promotes and practices safety in the workplace. Uses and cares for equipment safely.
• Work includes emergency cleanup of rooms.
• Reports needed repairs and property damage.
• Cleans Restrooms.
• Vacuums, Sweep and Mop.
• Trash Collection and disposes of trash.
• Dust, and clean services including doors, elevators, drinking fountains, mirrors, glass, etc.
• Refill consumable products and dispensers, such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the custodial supply areas.
• Provides event support.

Required Qualifications

Requires the ability to understand simple written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
• Demonstrates teamwork, adaptability and follow-through with assigned tasks.
• Reliability in all aspects of work role and interactions.
• Ability to work required shift.
• Customer service oriented.
• Knowledge of safety practice.
• Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and needs.
• Two + years experience working in custodial operations.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and be proactive in facility preparation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Pay Statement
