Job Summary The Senior Director, Operational Excellence OpU is responsible for delivering value by supporting the strategic Operational Excellence activities across OpU sites. This will involve development and deployment of the Operational Excellence strategy in line with TechOps and Quality strategic goals, the coordination of capability building, methodologies and knowledge sharing, while executing and coaching strategic projects across any of the key performance dimensions of quality, safety, service, service, cost and working capital at all pharmaceuticals manufacturing facilities. This role will help facilitate and coordinate the Operational Excellence governance processes together with OpU team and the Head of Operational Excellence. This role is a member of the Global Operational Excellence leadership team.

*This position requires working onsite at one of our production facilities: Melrose Park, IL; Grand Island, NY; or Wilson, NC. Travel 50% among the three sites.

*Salary Range: $200,000-250,000
*Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 22% of the base salary.
*Position is eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan.
*Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Operational Excellence capability building program according to the Operational Excellence Capability Model. This would involve developing and maintaining capability curricula, the execution of trainings and/or the coordination of trainers (internal or 3rd party) at all manufacturing facilities in the U.S.
  • Lead and provide guidance to the sites in executing transformations or burning platform projects.
  • Own elements of the operating system and develop standards correspondingly.
  • Roll out global OPEX standards (especially mandatory elements) across the network.
  • Develop and conduct OPEX trainings and maturity assessments.
  • Drive change management initiatives related to OPEX projects, practices, and principles.
  • Manage the administrative processes of the OPEX team, e.g., maintaining the OPEX SharePoint.
  • Run the global OPEX community and OPEX performance management calls.
  • Monitor committed savings liaising with SBE global counterpart.
  • Administer gathering of best practices and ensures sharing via IT tool / OpEx community.
  • Run the OpEx strategy deployment in alignment with global SBE and OpU/ Sites.
  • Conduct regular audits and process mapping to identify improvement opportunities. Prepare reports with findings, recommendations, and implementation process.
  • Ensure achievement of Savings Targets assigned to the functional area.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline, science or pharmaceutical technology or equivalent; advanced degree is preferred.
  • 12+ years' experience in operational excellence, organizational development, or related roles within a global organizationin technical operations. Leadership experience required.
  • Lean 6-Sigma Master Black Belt certified a plus.
  • Sophisticated Statistical Knowledge (e.g. MVDA).
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management and Change Management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and develop actionable insights including financial and business-related performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve cost savings, establishing improved processes and quality.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading cross functional multi-site operational excellence initiatives.
