Our Construction Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Service Estimator/Writer for our Florida region. This position will ensure the work order process is managed and completed in an efficient and accurate manner. The goals are to assist the service departments across Florida throughout the workday and take care of our customer and technician needs. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:



  • Estimator
    Estimates service jobs as requested by service and PSSR.
    Estimates service jobs for technicians as requested.
    Builds and maintains job log history of jobs for future use
    Estimates PM and TM&R agreements and contracts
    Conducts Repair vs Replace cost analysis for warranty claims
  • Standard Job Builder
    Builds Job Standards for all Current machine models in ERP
    Builds Job Standards for all reoccurring service jobs in ERP
    Builds Job standards for all reoccurring internal repairs in ERP
    Updates all standard jobs as required, reflecting parts and labor increases or superseded parts.
  • R&M - CSA
    Provide quotes as requested on all R&M and CSA contracts
    Builds monthly reports and submits to the Director of Product Support for review
  • Job Requisites
    The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, a leader of people, ethical, intelligent and able to adapt to all the forces around them - customers, suppliers, department employees, co - workers and manufacturers employees.


Qualifications:



  • A bachelor's degree, technical school certificate or equivalent experience in service labor supervision
  • Strong organization
  • Good communications skills
  • Excellent customer relations
  • Good computer and systems knowledge
  • A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
  • Solid shop floor management knowledge
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Good understanding of financial reporting principles
  • Supervisory and management training in related fields
  • Good business acumen
  • Leadership skills in a specialized repair environment
  • A solid understanding of pricing principles and discounting effects
  • Working knowledge of shop layout and industrial engineering principles.
  • Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability - Basic: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


Physical Demands/Work Environment:


  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Regularly will work near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
