Provider Solutions within McKesson's US Pharmaceutical (USP) Segment is seeking to accelerate the impact and outcomes of our businesses by bringing on a Sr. Manager of Strategic Initiatives.

The Provider Strategy and Operations team supports business partners with functional and go-to-market leadership to pull through our strategic imperatives of growth, optimization and innovation across BU a programs.

The Sr. Manager Strategic Initiatives will play key role in the identification and implementation of programs that transform our business. Partnering closely with cross functional stakeholders and business leaders, you will have a relentless focus on outcomes and the creation of value to both MCK and our customers through the successful execution of the programs you and our team lead.

Specifically, this role will gather and analyze information to formulate data driven actionable recommendations, creation of quantifiable outcomes and objectives, gather buy-in and commitment for these recommendations with business stakeholders and executive sponsors, manage multiple high stakes and complex programs simultaneously, and ultimately implement the recommendations to deliver the targeted outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be curious, analytical, and confident, with a natural drive to exceed immediate project requirements. A genuine passion for transformation, combined with relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills will be key to success. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, and focused execution to deliver meaningful and tangible value for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the identification, scoping and delivery of strategic and transformative initiatives end-to-end; maintains responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed; manages stakeholder relationships and expectations

  • Proactively engage stakeholders to drive progress and, where needed, deliver on imperatives themselves.

  • Develops businesses cases and program governance (plans, cadences of accountability, etc.) and delivers at or above all strategic initiative targeted outcomes

  • Builds trust and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization

  • Influences and gains acceptance of ideas through effective communication, relevant and insightful analyses, and creative thinking

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context both present and over the next few years

  • Acts as thought partner in strategic discussions even outside of own projects and a business partner with key business leaders

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Education

Undergraduate degree in business, finance, technology, change management, healthcare, clinical operations, or similar fields of study is required; MBA or graduate degree preferred

Critical Skills

  • 3+ years strategy, operations or transformation consulting experience, or relevant industry experience (e.g., FP&A, operations, strategy).

  • Strong executive presence and the ability to work with and influence senior leaders

  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to logically structure issues and determine recommended resolutions

  • Strong program management and operations experience

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations

  • Superior project management skills with demonstrated experience successfully managing a cross-functional or cross-departmental team on a complex project

  • Ability to generate and execute creative ideas related to making communications engaging and distinctive

  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively and professionally navigate tough situations

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, but also be a self-starter

  • Excellent proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Additional Skills

  • Business Financial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, business process and SG&A functions (e.g., HR, Finance IT)

  • Technical Capabilities: Strong usage of Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization applications such as PowerBI or Tableau

  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus, but not required

Salary: 122,900.00 - 163,800.00 - 204,800.00 USD Annual (20% MIP)

Targeted budgeted range (140-170K with 20% MIP)
