Responsibilities

  • The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports Physical Therapists (PTs) in providing treatments to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage physical disabilities.
  • The PTA works under the direction and supervision of a licensed PT, implementing prescribed treatment plans and monitoring patient progress.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and functional training as directed by the PT.
  • Monitor patient performance during therapy sessions and report progress or concerns to the supervising PT.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices.
  • Document patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy area, ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working condition.
  • Assist with patient scheduling and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and professional guidelines for physical therapy practices.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Texas state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous acute care, rehab, or outpatient experience.
