SUMMARY

The role of the Pouring Shed Operator is to oversee the asphalt pouring process, in addition to providing guidance for team members working in the pouring shed. This position is responsible for packaging finished product for customer pick up.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations



  • Manage and maintain quality assurance on finished product
  • Package asphalt
  • Maintain inventory of packaged product for customer pick up
  • Complete daily maintenance on carton machine; communicate larger mechanical issues to asphalt maintenance team
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the pouring shed
  • Understand and operate all plant valves and lines related to the pouring shed
  • Log process order confirmations, inventory documents, and goods receipts into SAP
  • Assist team members is the operation of packaging, truck/railcar loading/unloading, and quality control procedures
  • Able to operate the railcar mover and assist others in moving railcars
  • Attend and participate in plant meetings and trainings
  • Monitor and restrict access to the facility
  • Assist in maintaining good housekeeping of all building and grounds * Any other task as directed by the Plant Leader



TPM



  • Participate on a TPM team
  • Engage on pillar team activities
  • Perform all TPM duties necessary to ensure the safety of the plant and drive to successful attainment of zero losses, zero defects, and zero injuries Safety
  • Complete annual safety training
  • Comply with all environmental compliance policies and programs
  • Fix and report all unsafe work conditions
  • Notify Plant Leader in the case of any accident, near miss, or on-the-job injury



Hours:

6am-2pm, Must be Flexible for Training



SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following skills and abilities:




  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to think under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Competent in basic math and tape measure skills



COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

A strong candidate must be able to:

* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and SAP)



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

* High School Diploma or equivalent



ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

A strong candidate should possess the ability to:




  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Work up to 12 hours in extreme hot/cold manufacturing environment
  • Walk/stand on concrete floor, as required during shift work lasting 8-12 hours
  • Routinely ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
  • Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary for task
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
