The Director of Sales-AIS is responsible for leading a diverse team of experienced Investment and Insurance licensed sales professionals, to create and provide comprehensive wealth management strategies tailored to clients' specific needs for the Associated Investment Services (AIS) business line. This sales leader must have a high level of leadership experience providing an inclusive approach to wealth advice and management, including: investment management; insurance services; trust; and estate, retirement, and financial planning services in a well-coordinated manner. This includes coaching individual Financial Advisors, while partnering with Risk and Compliance teams. Proven success coaching direct and indirect reports to properly identify, position, and include private wealth, trust investment management thought leadership, private banking as well as retirement planning services to ensure alignment to proper segment alignment that fortifies our brand promise and influence. This role is responsible for the achievement of line of business sales and revenue targets as well as key performance metrics across multiple markets.

This role will develop and execute market growth strategies while collaborating across all Associated Bank lines of business, ensuring substantial gain in revenue share, net promoter scores, colleague and client engagement and retention in assigned market, by leveraging a "One Associated Private Wealth, One Associated Bank" strategy approach. This includes aligning behaviors to a consistent sales management process, accelerating our pipeline closing success, and leveraging marketing campaigns and CRM systems.

Role will be responsible for collaborating with consumer, commercial and business banking leaders to deepen existing bank client relationships into Associated Investment Services / Private Wealth at an accelerated pace, while promoting Associated Bank's associated products and solutions. The ultimate goal is to accelerate our clients' sense of fulfillment in their lives through effective financial planning and comprehensive team-based solutions customized to their needs, wants and wishes.

Provide comprehensive sales management for the purpose of achieving the sales and profitability targets. Assist the sales associates to fully understand the product features and benefits, and coach for sales success. Coordinate supervisory principal activities such as branch office and registered representative examinations and continuing education programs for the investment/securities related activities. This position requires at minimum, a check of criminal background and credit records as a FINRA registered position.
  • Lead a diverse team of Financial Advisors across multiple markets; provide comprehensive guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their success in delivering compliant and exceptional client service, while achieving sales and profitability targets.

  • Meet or exceed performance goals and objectives both individually and in aggregate for team. Ensure team members meet performance goals and objectives. Adhere to compliance, regulatory and code of ethics expectations. Represent ASB / Associated Investment Services professionally and with integrity.

  • Collaborate with AIS President and CEO to develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive business growth and increase market share within the Private Wealth management sector in the assigned markets.

  • Accelerate the collaboration between Associated Investment Services / Private Wealth with Associated Bank to deepen relationships with Mass Affluent clients into Private Wealth. Ensure proper client alignment is achieved into the right segments by serving as the point lead in navigating client introductions and leads. Travel across the markets is expected.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and clients, building trust and engagement in promoting Associated Investment Services / Private Wealth internally and externally.

  • Excel at recruiting and retaining talent and serve as primary ambassador of our wealth brand advancement through community engagement and outreach.

  • Collaborate with consumer, commercial, and business banking leaders to identify existing bank clients with the potential to be upscaled into Private Wealth management and develop and lead strategies to accelerate the process.

  • Elevate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) behaviors and outcomes through guiding, coaching, and inspiring others to reach full potential, foster a culture of growth and innovation while upholding risk and governance standards. Steer our organization toward its goals through a DE&I oriented approach.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as investment advisors, portfolio managers, and legal and risk compliance professionals, to develop comprehensive wealth management strategies for clients and promote Associated Bank's associated products and solutions.

  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to provide informed and proactive advice to clients and team members, incorporating Associated Bank's comprehensive solutions. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies, including privacy and confidentiality requirements.

  • Monitor and analyze team performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, profitability, and the promotion of Associated Bank's associated products and solutions.

  • Lead regular market-based team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to foster a culture of continuous learning and development, with a focus on promoting and delivering Associated Bank's comprehensive solutions. Establish leadership presence for Private Wealth and AIS in all assigned markets.

  • Leader must possess a desire to progress in their comprehensive understanding of expert AIS business (Broker Dealer / RIA) overall as a contingent executive to the current CEO. This includes assumption of any additional delegated executive level responsibilities that the CEO requires assistance with to lead Associated Investment Advisor business line.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Field of Study: Finance, Business or related field

Preferred Education

  • Master's Degree. Field of Study: Finance, Business or related field

Required Work Experience

  • Combined sales, business development and revenue generation experience in Private Banking and/or Investment Sales Management - 10+ years of experience

  • Leadership experience of sales professionals in Private Banking/Private Wealth and/or Investment Sales Management - 7+ years of experience

  • FINRA Series 24 Supervisory Experience with 4-7 years of experience

  • Specific experience elevating mass affluent program upstreaming mass affluent clients to accelerate duality (banking & investing) is critical.4-7 years of experience

Preferred Work Experience

  • Regional sales and/or program level Investment Sales Leadership experience. 4-7 years of experience

Required Certification

  • Series 7-Stockbroker Exam|Series 7-Stockbroker Exam

  • Life, Health and Variable Insurance License|Life , Health and Variable Insurance License

  • Series 65 and Series 24

Preferred Certification

  • CFP-Certified Financial Planner
