JOB OBJECTIVE

Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager, the Wellness Center Services Specialist is responsible for staffing the Wellness Center front desk to ensure that all guests are greeted and assisted. Provides clerical and administrative support. Supports efficient operations of the Wellness Center. Be a compassionate, detail-oriented individual to assist clinical staff in providing high quality Wellness Center and Therapy services. Ensuring appropriate communication between providers and working together with all members of the community to uphold and further the mission, vision, principles, and values of Saint John's.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


  1. Serves as receptionist for the Wellness Center and Therapies. Provides excellent customer service by promptly answering and screening all calls to the department. Responds to all calls promptly, no later than one business day.
  2. Performs clerical duties that include, but are not limited to: printing, organizing documents, filing, faxing, mailing, scanning, and answering department phone, maintaining schedules, maintaining logs/databases.
  3. Provides as back up for the Health Services Coordinator.
  4. Provides clerical and administrative support to nursing and therapy leadership.
  5. Maintains MD, Podiatry, Dentistry, Audiology and other schedules. Makes reminder calls, check-ins, and ongoing scheduling.
  6. Maintains office supplies (printer paper, toner, folders, sticky notes, etc.)
  7. Clean and organize exam rooms, therapy gym and treatment room equipment and areas including maintaining laundry and clean linens in therapy gym, hydrocollator, refrigerator, stove, and therapy modalities
  8. Prepare durable medical equipment when needed including setting up canes, walkers, wheelchairs, braces, and other therapy equipment
  9. Assures that all resident/client rights are maintained at all times. Reports any violations or suspected deviations immediately, according to Saint John's policy.
  10. Maintains confidentiality of all departmental and organizational information.
  11. Knows and follows existing lines of communication and authority.
  12. Utilizes critical thinking to solve problems and make decisions.



Professionalism

  1. Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary business, financial, health, personal or other information concerning residents, employees, consultants, prospects, and operations and where appropriate complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as corporate and departmental standards.
  2. Assures that all resident rights are maintained. Report any violations of suspected deviations according to Saint John's policy. Assist in the investigation of allegations of abuse and misappropriation of residents' property according to State and Federal regulations.
  3. Works cooperatively with residents, clients, families, volunteers, visitors, and all levels of staff throughout the organization.
  4. Maintains a neat and clean work area at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Work experience in a medical clinic setting is preferred.
  3. Possesses a valid driver's license.
  4. Must be able to read, speak and write English.



Knowledge:

  1. Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow established policies and procedures



Skills:

  1. Possesses proficient computer skills with the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel with proficiency in data entry.
  2. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with residents, families, the public, and other members of the organization.
  3. Able to document observations in writing.



Abilities:

  1. Demonstrates dependability and reliability in adhering to an established work schedule. Able to work flexible hours to meet scheduling requirements.
  2. Demonstrates performance efficiency in managing workload with ability to meet established deadlines. Able to adapt to changing organizational needs.
  3. Exhibits a warm, cheerful, caring manner when interacting with residents, families, co-workers, and other guests at Saint John's.
  4. Must be professional in actions, dress appropriately to the position, have excellent customer service skills, and desire to work with and serve older adults.
  5. Able to multi-task and work independently while performing various duties without close supervision.
  6. Is self-directed and can independently problem-solve situations that may arise to the satisfaction of the resident, family, and other guests of Saint John's.
