JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Operation Lead will manage a 2025 annual operating budget of $3m and will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, streamlining logistics strategies, and managing a rapidly growing team of four to ensure the seamless movement, storage, maintenance, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment across multiple project sites.

This individual will collaborate with senior management, Project Managers, Foremen, and Service Technicians, as well as external suppliers and vendors, to develop and implement proactive logistics solutions that enhance project performance and service excellence. This individual's ability to anticipate challenges, improve processes, and execute strategic logistics planning will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our projects.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Provide strategic oversight for a growing team of four, drive talent acquisition, onboarding, and professional development efforts.

* Actively promote and enforce McKenney's Safety Program, policies, and procedures, including the goals of a Zero Injury Program.

* Partner with senior leadership to align logistics strategy with overall business objectives, ensuring that resource planning and execution support long-term growth targets.

* Act as a key liaison to Project Managers, Profit Center Managers, and Field Operations, providing rapid responses to questions and proactive solutions to problems.

* Contribute to the development of corporate standards and best practices for logistics operations across branches, driving procedural consistency.

* Support prefab and modular planning efforts by integrating logistics timelines with project schedules and installation sequencing.

* Develop, analyze and act on key performance metrics such as lead time, order accuracy, and on-time delivery to improve logistics efficiency.

* Represent the CLT Logistics team in the development, implementation, and support efforts of new and existing technology solutions, including ToolConnect, Truck Ticket, and WHConnect.

* Oversee quarterly and annual inventory audits, and manage budgets for Warehouse, Trucking, and Tool Room divisions to drive cost efficiency and financial accountability.

* Develop thoughtful data visualizations to effectively communicate key logistics performance metrics to stakeholders, leveraging tools such as Tableau and Smartsheet.

* Perform bi-weekly 5S audits in the Warehouse, Tool Room, and Sheet Metal Shop.

* Ensure swift, professional responses to McKenney's MGI submissions and Quality Observations.

* Represent CLT Logistics in all Logistics Risk Assessments and actively participate in at least six Project Reviews annually.

* Conduct a minimum of 12 site visits annually to assess logistics effectiveness and implement training in the field.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's Degree preferred in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

* Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Demonstrated success in the construction industry

* Experience with Smartsheet and/or Tableau

* Strong Business Acumen (entrepreneurship counts)

* Leadership exposure (conferences, training, etc.)

* Strong leadership skills, self-motivation, and ability to respond to changing customer demands

* Productive time management to maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals

* Ability to succeed both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

* Strong attention to detail and prioritization of company needs to maximize profitability

* Effective communication across a diverse group of people (PMs, field staff, VC, shops, etc.)

* Solid reasoning, math, science, and technical skills

* Readiness to take on additional responsibilities as needed and independently manage priorities

* Exceptional work ethic and project ownership

* Integrity to uphold company values and demand the highest standards of conduct from self and others

* Persistence to attain results under adverse circumstances and conflict

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/warehouse environment.

* Work involves occasional exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.

* Work environment involves moderate exposure to warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

* Work will require construction job site visits. This will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, and the ability to negotiate work areas under construction.

* Moderate physical effort. May require occasional handling of moderate-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive climbing, walking, and standing.
