Overview:

Full-time, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week.

Monday-Friday,start time between 12pm-2pm, end time 8:30pm-10:30pm. Occasional weekends, holidays, and call as necessary.

Non-exempt, Benefits Eligible.

Pay starts at $24/hr+ based on experience.

Job Description Summary:

Assists in guiding, mentoring, and overseeing activities of Periop Technicians. Acts as a resource in the department to assist providers, nursing team, and other technicians, ensuring high quality performance.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Takes accountability for the day-to-day perioperative tech activities in the OR. Ensures adequate service to the operating rooms, assisting in room turnovers and vocera calls. Makes and communicates daily room assignments.
  • Trains all new hires in duties pertaining to fluids, equipment, room turnovers, and supplies.
  • Maintains quarterly competency checks for all Periop Techs on fluids, such as small IVs, Large IVs, A-lines, fluid warmers, alaris pumps, and rapid infusers; equipment, such as ultrasounds, scopes, humidified circuits, gas machines, and vaporizers; and proper OR standards, such as for turnovers, bed making, mop care, and case carts.
  • Maintains the workflow of the Anesthesia workroom, including overstock and supply expiration.
  • Assists manager in working with anesthesia providers, supply chain, nursing, and central processing to ensure patient, supply, and equipment needs are met.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

BLS, required.


Skills:
  • Working knowledge of all anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Able to efficiently initiate, multi-task, and meet required deadlines under stressful working conditions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Intermediate technology skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and materials management terminology.

Experience:

One year of experience working in an OR setting, required.
