Full-Time - Tuesday thru Saturday - 8:00am - 4:30pm

$23 - $23.86 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Front Porch Vitality Initiative by planning and carrying out comprehensive programming, activities and events addressing the six dimensions of whole person wellness in all levels of service/care. The Life Enrichment Specialist may be asked to provide departmental leadership in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

* Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.

* Implementation of individualized programs and services to residents at every level of care in the community, including those in memory care who suffer from chronic cognitive disease such as Dementia & Alzheimer's, skilled nursing and, those who need medical assistance and residents who are fully independent.

* Works closely with all departments associated with activity programs.

* Ensures active collaboration with outside community organizations to enhance programming.

* Coordinates all necessary transportation.

* Coordinates resident and outside community member volunteers needed for Life Enrichment programming.

* Is able to operate the appropriate technical equipment necessary to running a comprehensive Life Enrichment program.

* Has a working knowledge of and complies with OBRA and Title 22 guidelines.

* Use computer, office, adaptive and various recreation program equipment and supplies.

* Is fiscally responsible for operating within the departmental budget.

* Supervisory responsibilities include supervising 1-4 Life Enrichment Assistants as well as volunteers.

* Specific to SNF facilities:

o Regularly assess resident's abilities as they relate to activities.

o Actively participate as a member of the team responsible for developing and implementing resident care plans.

o Coordinate documentation as required by the facility and governmental agencies.

o Maintain current resident attendance records and monitor resident attendance in SNF and/or memory care.

* Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs.

* Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.

* Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services as required by the Executive Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. * Activity director certificate required; Five years' experience in related field with effective leadership and organizational skills, knowledge of the budgetary process and an understanding of the recreation and leisure needs of seniors; Working knowledge of OBRA and Title 22 regulations and experience in MDS assessment is needed.

* Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently; must be able to organize thoughts in a clear manner, effective oral and written communication skills; must possess public speaking skills; must be an active listener and possess conflict resolution/problem solving skills.

* Must have good understanding of budgetary process. Must have skills necessary for tracking and analyzing required statistics

* Must be able to identify situations in which immediate action should be taken and determine which situations need or require additional assistance and/or information; ability to evaluate the effectiveness of current recreation and leisure programs is essential. Must display appropriate decision making skills.

    * Awareness and knowledge of the aging process and its effect on our residents; awareness of community resources available; certifications required are CPR, First Aid, Activity Certification or equivalent education and valid California Driver's license.
