Objective of Position
This is a rare opportunity to join the Citrix Virtual App & Desktops and DaaS Product Management team in an externally focused Senior Principal Product Manager role to help build a differentiated strategy and product vision that is aligned with Citrix's long-term company goals. In this role, you will be responsible for competitive analysis, customer and partner engagement, long-term strategic planning, cross-product initiatives and market validation of new products and features.

Principal Responsibilities


  • Conducts competitive analysis, market validation activities, such as customer prospect interviews and market analysis as part of new product or feature planning; validates product plans against research results and makes in-depth strategic recommendations based on data and judgment
  • Creates and executes end-to-end product differentiation strategies and lifecycles for multiple related product lines in Citrix Workspace portfolio with a particular focus on Virtual Apps and Desktops product line, and communicates to stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Leads the product process involved from conception to release for major and minor releases, with emphasis on cloud based services, features and solutions
  • Guide Citrix teams, customers and partners in understanding overall product strategy as it applies to multiple product lines
  • Drives and owns the product requirements process across multiple related product lines while working collaboratively with key stakeholders to prioritize and validate technology, features, product direction and strategy;
  • Drives strategic initiatives and research to base decision making on data and customer feedback to inform tactical and strategic decisions; drives cross-team analysis and sharing of data
  • Develops product portfolio strategy and roadmap in concert with product management, engineering, marketing, sales, design and other internal teams and stakeholders
  • Applies a deep and broad understanding of application, data and networking solutions required to deliver on enterprise IT objectives and goals
  • Acts as the product expert and resource within the organization for assigned product lines
  • Drives and influences adoption of product management and software development best practices across product management and engineering teams.
  • Works with engineering leadership on an ongoing basis and serves as a key stakeholder/approver in many of the review, prioritization and approval process inherent to software development
  • Defines, measures and tracks product related goals and metrics using a data driven approach with emphasis on evidence based decision making

Other Duties


  • Analyst and Partner Relations: Works with key industry analysts and partners to put forth a positive message regarding the product line
  • Project Management: Completes many projects involving coordination among a diverse set up; manages and maintains internal groups
  • Product Marketing: Works closely with Product Marketing Leadership to divide and conquer nearly all duties involved with full spectrum product management
  • Leadership: Sets strong examples to Associate and Product Line Mangers for Product Management best practices
  • Communication: Presents to wide ranging audiences, including internal stakeholders, Webinars, trainings, customer visits, trade shows and industry events
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May guide junior Product Managers through their duties and responsibilities.

Knowledge and Skills


  • Deep expertise and 10+ years of experience in App and Desktop Virtualization technologies.
  • Have experience and familiarity with Citrix competitive offerings in app and desktop virtualization space.
  • You have working experience with Public Clouds such as Azure and AWS
  • Have experience or understand Windows administration along with familiarity with unified communications solutions
  • Have experience with planning and management of product life cycle, agile development
  • Have experience documenting research findings, market analysis and product requirements for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You have working experience in presenting to wide ranging audiences, internal and external, via webinars, training sessions / seminars, and customer visits. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills. Good command of the English language.
  • You are a team player with the ability to work with people across different regions and cultures.
  • Have great execution skills and technical knowledge.
  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 15
  • years of prior relevant experience; or Master's degree with 12 years; or PhD with 8 years of experience.

Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance.
