The Senior RF Design Engineer, under minimal supervision, will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of wireless designs in hearing aids and hearing aid accessories. S/He must possess technical expertise, effective communication skills, creativity, and internal drive to lead the creation of designs that are recognized as best-in-class in the hearing aid industry. The Senior RF Design Engineer must be able to work well in a cross-functional team environment and provide leadership and clarity for wireless design aspects.

What you will do:




    1. Design of wireless hardware for products through the product development process.


      1. Contribute to wireless hardware design, implementation, verification, and release of wireless products.
      2. Update design rules and guidelines for schematic, layout, and mechanical design.


    2. Drive testing and troubleshooting of product to characterize the unit and system level RF performance.


      1. Create and execute test plans and test procedures to characterize unit level performance.
      2. Analyze test data and generate test reports.


    3. Support transfer of products and product knowledge into manufacturing
    4. Contribute to the culture of collective knowledge expansion in the RF discipline (e.g. antenna design, fabrication techniques, design optimization techniques, etc.)
    5. Identify patentable IP and write patent disclosures.
    6. Drive continuous improvement in product and process
    7. Mentor and provide work direction to junior engineers and technicians



Education



  • Minimum 10 years with B.S. or related experience, 8 years with M.S. or 5 years with PhD. in Electrical Engineering


Skills & Abilities



  • Expertise in RF hardware design concepts, practices, and procedures required.
  • Knowledge of antenna design and testing required.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory fundamentals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficiency with RF circuit simulation tools (Ansoft Designer, Agilent Genesys) required.
  • Proficiency with antenna simulation tools (Ansoft HFSS) desired.
  • Familiar with FCC, ETSI and other wireless regulatory standards desired.
  • Familiarity with high volume production desired.
  • Proficient in using the following equipment: oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, Network analyzer required.
  • Data statistical analysis and statistical process control (Excel, Matlab, others.) desired.
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office tools required.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Capable of performing with minimal supervision required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to adapt positively to a changing environment.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay rate for this position is between $93,940 - $136,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for monthly uncapped commissions in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
