Position Summary Under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Extra Help Hemodialysis Technician delivers patient care utilizing the Relationship-Based Care model as a framework. The Extra Help Hemodialysis Technician provides care and takes the initiative to improve hemodialysis patient outcomes by supporting Shared Leadership, Evidence-Based Practice, Relationship Based Care, and standards of nursing excellence in clinical practice. Through therapeutic relationships with patients, families, self, and colleagues, the Hemodialysis Technician functions as an interdisciplinary team member who provides patient care and fulfills Dialysis unit and UI Health organizational goals. The primary function of this position is to give dialysis therapy to patients with renal failure. The work schedule will be rotating mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.
