UW Madison, Department of Educational Psychology is seeking candidates to teach graduate level courses in school psychology and learning sciences. Courses will provide instruction on cognitive and emotional foundations of behavior and will focus on neuroscience foundational concepts relevant to clinical mental health practice. Courses are part of the School Psychology graduate program in the Department of Educational Psychology in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Courses are graduate-level that cover issues related to training school psychology students in the PhD program.

Position is a part-time position with a 20% - 40% FTE. Position may fluctuate depending on instructional need within the department. These course are typically taught during the fall semester.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations.
  • Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy

Compensation:

$70,000 minimum - commensurate with qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

1. Current knowledge and background in the relevant discipline including focus on neuroscience foundational concepts and cognitive and emotional foundations of behavior.

2. Prior teaching experience in a graduate program

3. Ability to respond to the needs of learners from a variety of educational backgrounds and learning styles

4. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

5. Excellent written communication skills

6. Good organizational skills and timeliness in responding to student inquiries

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in using Canvas learning management system

Education:

PhD required in school psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field
