We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior User Experience (UX) Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will spend the majority of your time conducting and supporting user research-planning, executing, and analyzing studies-while also contributing to research operations that ensure our processes run efficiently and insights are readily accessible across the organization. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and fellow researchers to ensure the customer voice is central to decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a curious and self-motivated early-career researcher with foundational UX research skills, strong communication abilities, and the adaptability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Your contributions will directly improve veterinary practice workflows, enhance the hospital experience, and ensure our products and services meet the evolving needs of users, their clients, and pets world-wide. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in UX research methodologies while making a meaningful impact on products that matter.

This role will be to based hybrid out of our Westbrook ME office (minimum of 2-days in office)

This role will sit within our IDEXX Veterinary Software product portfolio. With a focus on software solutions, we are dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of pets, people, and livestock around the world. A bit more about the role, you will:
  • Support the planning, execution, and analysis of UX research projects using qualitative and quantitative methodologies (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys).

  • Recruit and engage participants for studies, ensuring alignment with research objectives.

  • Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights and present them to stakeholders.

  • Manage and maintain the UX research repository, ensuring insights are tagged, organized, and accessible to the organization.

  • Maintain research project checklists, templates, and scoping documents to guide project execution.

  • Build and manage participant databases for surveys and interviews, including tracking engagement, participation quality, and interest in future research.

  • Assist with internal stakeholder feedback collection at the completion of research projects, incorporating measures of business impact.

  • Stay current on industry best practices in UX research methodologies and customer engagement.

So, what are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Market Research, or related field-or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Foundational knowledge of UX research methodologies (e.g., qualitative discovery, usability testing, survey design).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage projects independently with guidance.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work across functions.

  • Eagerness to learn and applying new tools for research, data analysis, and content creation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) with familiarity in tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Figma, Salesforce, Confluence, Jira, and research repositories is a plus.
