Description
Acara Solutions is seeking a Quality Manager to join our international aerospace electronics client in north San Diego CA 92111. This is a full time direct position with a salary target of $120K - $135K plus bonus.
There are ~18 direct reports (2 QE's, 4 auditors, 10 in lab, 1-2 document control).
Scope:
Manages customer quality issues, including RMAs, SCARs, and complaints related to part quality and documentation. Drives process improvements across the organization to improve overall quality performance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate directly with customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Manage all aspects of RMAs: issuing, processing, follow-up through closure.
  • Investigate and respond to SCARs; identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Handle customer complaints via phone/email in a timely manner.
  • Analyze quality data and prepare reports using analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with Planning Engineering to ensure accurate flow-down of customer quality requirements.
  • Ensure shop traveler documentation and quality language is consistent and clear.
  • Follow through on assigned tasks until resolution.
  • Suggest procedural improvements and communicate safety concerns.
  • Travel to customer/supplier sites as needed.
  • Supervise the Quality team and other departments as required.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (B.S. preferred in a technical field).
  • Min 2 years of AS9100 aerospace exp.
  • Min 2 years of Quality Management exp (with multiple direct reports)
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Citizen secret clearance in the near future (military clients).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of aerospace quality experience
  • 2+ years in Printed Circuit Board manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (verbal/written).
  • Ability to lead, multitask, and work with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Access); able to create charts/graphs.
  • Skilled in blueprint/specification reading.
  • Must comply with ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and company export control regulations.
