JOB SUMMARY The primary function of the Gas Plant Manager is to plan, facilitate, and oversee the daily operations of the Gas Plant and lend support to gas plant operations in Lynchburg and Norfolk. RESPONSIBILITIES Operate and safely maintain production plant for packaging gases into cylinders while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies and procedures and laws and regulations. Manage and provide leadership to gas plant personnel. Maintain production levels. Develop, implement and monitor periodic inspections of plant facility to ensure safe and efficient operation. Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products. Recommend and/or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or terminations and consult with Director of Cylinder Operations and HR to review all disciplinary measures. Provide technical support to all departments requiring compressed gas technology, product costing, gas distribution, etc. Report performance metrics to Director of Cylinder Operations as required. Manage costs associated with gas plant operations. Promote and ensure efficient distribution routes. Promptly communicate gas plant needs with Director of Cylinder Operations.
