Henderson Engineers is seeking a Business Line Executive to join their leadership team and lead one of our core business units out of our Lenexa, KS or Bentonville, AR office. The Business Line Executive is accountable for the overall strategic direction, revenue, growth, and resiliency of the sector. This role will oversee all efforts relative to client satisfaction, profitability, technical quality, innovation, business development, cross - sector collaboration and employee engagement for the sector. The executive role within the sector is the brand ambassador with both internal and external clients and provides timely updates to other executive team members as well as board members. They are responsible for keeping other members of the executive leadership team apprised of any barriers to growth and providing innovative solutions to those barriers.


Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities


OPERATIONS & QUALITY



  • Oversees all operation areas of the sector through direct supervision of all directors within the sector, accountable for meeting company quality standards across their individual purview
  • Develops the sector annual budget for approval by the Board of Directors (BOD), monitors for adherence throughout the year.
  • Develops, monitors, approves, and implements policies and procedures to ensure sector operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate guidelines.
  • Guides strategy for employee relations and personnel matters including all employment actions within the sector.
  • Develops strategy including personnel structure and accountabilities for the use of companywide technical quality approach.


PROFITABILITY



  • Ensures appropriate actions are taken to maximize the financial performance of the sector.
  • Creates and tracks revenue and profitability goals for the team, collaborating and reporting to BOD.
  • Assesses risk to mitigate potential negative impacts to the company.


EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT / TEAMWORK



  • Demonstrates a One Henderson mindset, partnering with Henderson leadership colleagues to meet organizational goals, collaborate on best practices, and leverage areas where the business can be more successful by working together.
  • Stays current on employee retention and acquisition trends to prioritize efforts and act accordingly.
  • Ensures sufficient training, development, and mentoring of talent.


CLIENT EXPERIENCE



  • Partners with BOD, Marketing, and other relevant stakeholders to create client satisfaction metrics, develop goals and plan for an evaluation process for the sector.
  • Drives client acquisition, development, and retention through positive relations with the company and clients, vendors, and competitors.
  • Manages negotiations with outside parties on behalf of the sector.


GROWTH & INNOVATION



  • Develops strategic plans for the growth of the sector consistent with the Company mission; addresses new business opportunities with appropriate risk management, business development strategy, and organizational structures.
  • Sets innovation goals for the sector in alignment with company-wide strategies, cascades accountabilities for innovation appropriately throughout the sector and internal partnerships.
  • Identifies and encourages opportunities to use innovative solutions and drive growth.


Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, science, technology or business required.
  • Fourteen (14) or greater years of relevant experience, with at least five (5) years leadership/management experience.
  • Strong history of developing business that is profitable and strategic for continued growth.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and closing new business using a consultative, multi-discipline team approach.
  • Proven ability to leverage relationships with principals, developers, vendors, general contractors, and trade partners to learn about current projects underway and potential new business.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA/advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Knowledge of LEED rating system preferred.
