Lead end-to-end compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness, compliance, positive employee experience and efficient delivery. Manage benefits budget and vendor relationships. Implement process improvements. Support management and HRBPs with compensation & benefits matters. Act as subject matter expert for related HRIS functionality. Provide operational and strategic guidance to the team.



Key Duties:




  • Manage the compensation and benefits function for Genesis Energy, which covers 1,000+ employees. Supervise 2 benefits/compensation analysts.
  • Oversee benefits strategy and administration, including health and welfare, retirement, and wellness programs, ensuring competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead compensation analytics, using data insights to inform pay decisions and ensure market competitiveness.
  • Develop and manage the budget to ensure effective and efficient program delivery; update forecast and ensure accurate accruals of compensation and benefit spend.
  • Evaluate the current benefit programs including costs, market conditions, and efficacy and accuracy of administration.
  • Manage relationships with related third-party service providers, including H&W vendors, auditors, brokers, and consultants, to optimize benefits offerings.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of plan carriers, program vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Responsible for regular benchmarking and monitoring of pay trends to include participation in annual compensation surveys.
  • Analyze performance and market trends to develop recommendations for annual compensation programs.
  • Design, implement, and administer short- and long-term incentive plans.
  • Manage all related compliance programs including annual 401k audits, Forms 5500s, NDTs, etc.
  • Manage and administer the 401k Plan. Lead Retirement Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Operations, Finance and other internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with plan regulations and contracts.
  • Manage annual Open Enrollment activities.
  • Oversee benefit & compensation communication materials, booklets, employee meetings, and other media for communicating new plans and changes to employees.
  • Manage the company's leave programs, including disability, FMLA and ADA.
  • Assist VP HR with the preparation of benefit and compensation materials for board meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, SEC, FLSA, pay transparency, and other statutory requirements.
  • Lead compensation and benefits due diligence and integration for future acquisitions or M&A activity.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders on compensation and benefits standard processes and innovations.
  • Play a critical role with HR systems management, particularly for comp and benefit programs.



Required Skills, Experience, and Education:




  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in benefit administration including at least 3 years of people management
  • 2+ years of compensation admin experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of ERISA and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of executive compensation management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing total rewards strategies.
  • Experience in brokerage management and RFP processes.
  • Can comfortably communicate with employees at all levels, including senior and executive leadership.
  • Work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Handle multiple interruptions while continuing to meet deliverables.
  • Manage complex projects with little supervision.
  • Exhibit strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Polished, customer-focused and action-oriented.
  • Experience in midstream, energy or utilities sectors, preferred.
  • CBP or CCP certification a plus
