Role & Essential Functions

EWI is a world leader in developing and deploying new technologies that enable companies to bridge the gap between R&D and manufacturing implementation. EWI associates are passionate about identifying out-of-the-box options that provide a long-term competitive advantage for our clients. Our clients tell us we are a valuable extension and complement to their innovation, engineering, and manufacturing teams. If you enjoy dealing with customers and solving difficult, technical problems, EWI is the place for you.

EWI's Data science group acts as turbo charger for EWI's innovation engine. We specialize in working cross-disciplinary with EWI's cutting-edge manufacturing technology teams including additive manufacturing (3D printing), advanced stamping, robotics, ultrasonics, and lasers. Data science focuses include using in-line sensing to predict part quality, semi-analytical modeling, probabilistic modeling, and data modeling. For the Data Scientist role, we are searching for expertise, practical experience, and visionary thinking in manufacturing data science. Our customers are based across the country and include world-class leaders in the aerospace, automotive, consumer products, electronics, medical, energy & chemical, government, and heavy manufacturing industries.

The Data Scientist position is located at Buffalo Manufacturing Works, operated by EWI - a one-of-kind center for advanced manufacturing focused on developing, maturing and implementing new technologies that have an impact on the clients we work with and the communities in which they live. Located in Buffalo, New York, we are dedicated to building a nationally-recognized hub of manufacturing innovation and are looking for smart, passionate, entrepreneurial, inventive and driven people to help us achieve this goal.
