Transportation Planner - Kimball International, Jasper, IN - Jasper, IN

The Transportation Planner at Kimball International is responsible for planning and executing domestic shipments, ensuring on-time delivery through coordination with logistics partners. This role focuses on meeting customer delivery requirements while maintaining operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and balanced loading schedules at suppliers and warehouses.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute transportation plans for customer orders
• Ensure on-time customer delivery while maintaining balanced loading schedules at suppliers and warehouses at the lowest possible cost
• Manage expedite and exception shipment requests by providing options and alternatives
• Complete and process accessorial forms when applicable
• Tender loads to carriers and provide accurate shipment details to ensure proper delivery
• Coordinate shipments through our network of logistics service providers, including warehouse operators and domestic carriers
• Maintain strong working relationships with logistics partners
• Provide expedited ground freight quotes when requested
• Enter and maintain logistics data in CRM and ERP systems, including logistics plans, costs, and shipping details
• Assist in monitoring and reporting logistics performance metrics, including on-time shipping, carrier rejections, exceptions, and truckload details
• Manage OS&D (over, short, and damaged) reports from carriers
• Coordinate shipment details with Order Fulfillment in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain a customer-focused approach to resolve internal and external customer issues

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of domestic freight movement

Educational:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred
