About the Role:

Under direct supervision, responsible for monitoring existing security systems/tools for threat identification and responding and/or escalating to IT leadership. Supports the design, implementation, and configuration of Information Security related technologies and solutions. Participates in threat mitigation/remediation efforts, incident investigations, and on-call rotations.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Assists in the implementation, testing, management, and upgrades of cyber security related projects

  • Review security systems (EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, cloud security tools, etc.) outputs/triage reports and formulate response, escalate more complex and/or widespread issues

  • Continuously review existing control/policies and report gaps to manager for potential update

  • Monitor and report threats to Infrastructure Team using endpoint security platforms

  • Research security weaknesses and find ways to mitigate them

  • Actively reviews the various security tools employed within the organization to identify, notify, and remediate (or escalate) security events

  • Actively reviews the Information Security ticket queue and resolves or escalates assigned incidents on a timely basis

  • Supports security incident response and forensic investigations

  • Supports cyber security audits to support corporate, financial, and regulatory processes for networks, applications, endpoint devices, and communications

  • Assist with the maintenance and annual testing of the Cyber Incident Response Plan

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2+ years of experience working in a dedicated information security role OR

  • BA/BS Degree Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or some relevant field and some similar experience noted above

  • Professional certification related to Cybersecurity preferred

  • Good understanding of Information Security standards, practices, procedures, and tools

  • Strong understanding of software systems patching, management, and deployment solutions

  • Good understanding of various security solutions including VPNs, Email gateways, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxies, and DNS security

  • Ability to research the latest trends and awareness of current hacking techniques and cybercrime

  • Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800, CIS, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of using and configuring SIEM tools

  • Good understanding of various EDR tools and Windows security settings and controls.

  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or experience and begins to learn Neurocrine's business

  • Has basic knowledge of practices and procedures within own discipline

  • Developing skill and abilities with tools used in the job family or discipline

  • Has conceptual knowledge of theories and practices and will learn procedures within own functional area

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Good computer skills

  • Developing communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, planning and organization skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Understands importance of meeting deadlines

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $30.36-$42.85. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
