We're seeking a Senior Production Engineer - Wax Room Operations for technical production support, process/product development and optimization of Aerospace Superalloy investment casting processes and systems. The Senior Production Engineer is focused on implementing best practices for trouble shooting and to ensure process control; utilizing Lean tools and methodologies to positively impact the business metrics.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage daily engineering support including troubleshooting of processes in the wax room, wax injection molding, pattern assembly, defect inspection to ensure production targets are met while adhering to quality standards.
  • Support engineering efforts by maintaining process control in wax room operations.
  • Develop and implement process optimization / improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize defects in wax pattern production and pattern assembly using Lean, CI, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Lead projects from concept to completion, managing technical, budget, and schedule requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop component designs and repairs that meet performance, cost, and durability goals
  • Own assigned components or processes through all manufacturing stages, identifying and implementing improvements
  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings to internal and external stakeholders



Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field
  • Familiarity with aerospace and gas turbine components, including Superalloy investment casting methods
  • 5+ years experience supporting technical teams in product development and production, with a focus on improving process and product maturity
  • 2+ years experience in investment casting wax room process engineering
  • Investment casting - wax room tooling experience, preferred 1+ years of experience
  • Understanding of measurement techniques such as CMM, blue-light/laser scanning, and precision gaging
  • Knowledge of metal and ceramic finishing processes, tools, and equipment
  • Basic understanding of NDT methods, especially fluorescent penetrant, and X-ray inspection
  • Strong grasp of core mechanical engineering and materials science principles
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Proficient in Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Six Sigma methodologies
