Step into a role as a Facilities Procurement Director at Bright Horizons. The Facilities Procurement Director will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of all facilities-related goods and services across our US based childcare centers. A key focus of this role is driving cost savings through competitive bidding, vendor consolidation, and contract optimization. The Director will be responsible for identifying and executing cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality or compliance, ensuring that procurement decisions support both operational excellence and financial stewardship.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite at our headquarters in Newton MA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for maintenance, janitorial services, waste removal, FFE, playground equipment, safety systems, and other facility-related needs.

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFPs, RFIs, bidding, vendor selection, and contract negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and service quality.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and contract optimization.

  • Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to ensure pricing remains competitive and aligned with industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast facility needs and align procurement plans with operational goals and capital projects.

  • Manage vendor relationships and performance, including service level agreements, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor and report on procurement budgets, spending trends, and realized savings; develop KPIs to track procurement effectiveness.

  • Ensure all procurement activities align with health, safety, and licensing requirements specific to childcare facilities.

  • Promote supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices in all procurement activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field - Required

  • 10 years of experience - Required

  • 8+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on facilities or construction; experience in the childcare, education, or healthcare sector strongly preferred.

Additional Job Requirements
  • Proven track record of leading competitive bidding processes and delivering measurable cost savings.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor management, and contract negotiation.

  • Familiarity with childcare licensing and safety standards (e.g., playground safety, sanitation, emergency preparedness).

  • Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Corrigo).

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Experience supporting multi-site operations in a regulated industry.

  • Knowledge of early childhood education facility requirements.

  • Procurement certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus

Salary/Hourly Rate and Other Compensation Disclosures:

The annual starting salary for this position is between $120,000 - $138,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.

This position is also eligible for a 10% bonus and $15,000 RSUs.
