  • The Consumer Loan Specialist II performs a variety of servicing and administrative activities on consumer loans. If loan servicing duties are assigned, the Consumer Loan Specialist II will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of consumer real estate loans.This position will serve as a central point of contact for loan customer inquiries. If Document Intake duties are assigned, the Consumer Loan Specialist II will be responsible for managing consumer loan documentation inflow to ensure loans are boarded and liens are perfected in a timely manner. If Loan Renewal duties are assigned, the Consumer Loan Specialist will be responsible for the timely renewal of consumer Non-RE and/or Real Estate Loan Renewals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

If Loan Servicing duties are assigned:

  • Respond to customer phone calls and emails and provide quality customer service to consumer loan customers.

  • Assist branch and call center associates with payment processing or loan questions.

  • Resolve any problems or issues that arise with a loan efficiently and in a timely manner.

  • Process telephone payments for consumer loan customers.

  • Assist customers with automatic payments, payment extensions, due date changes, and various other loan file maintenance items.

  • Maintain knowledge of all aspects of consumer real estate loans.

  • Assist customers with real estate loan inquiries, including escrow questions and partial release requests.

  • Logs complete and accurate notes of all correspondence with customers in the bank's system of record.

  • Ensure that post-closing loan exceptions are resolved within the standard timing set by bank management and policy

  • Adheres to loan policies and procedures with complete documented files to ensure satisfactory reviews from internal and external audits.

  • Ability to meet individual goals and contribute in a team-oriented environment to ensure departmental and company goals are met. Sets and achieves challenging goals without direct supervision and contributes to a positive team spirit.

  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.

  • Has knowledge of multiple bank operating systems.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management, including, but not limited to, training new associates, managing the Consumer Loan Center general inbox, and assisting with revisions to department Policies and Procedures.

If Document Intake duties are assigned:

  • Scan loan documents into the bank's consumer lending platform.

  • Review loan documents to verify that they were signed and completed properly and review loan funding tickets for accuracy.

  • Ensure proper filing and recording of documentation required for lien perfection on auto and real estate loans.

  • Communicate with branch associates to resolve errors with loan documents and/or loan funding tickets.

  • Prepare bank GL and loan tickets accurately.

  • Process loan ticket transactions using the bank teller system.

  • Maintain daily logs of all loan documents received in the Consumer Loan Center.

  • Ensure that post-closing loan exceptions are resolved within the standard timing set by bank management and policy.

  • Adhere to loan policies and procedures with complete documented files to ensure satisfactory reviews from internal and external audits.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

If Loan Renewal duties are assigned:

  • Manages maturing loan pipeline to ensure balloon loans are renewed by or before deadline.

  • Assists customers with consumer loan renewal process. Maintains knowledge of consumer loan products, policies, and procedures.

  • Communicates with customers on items needed to complete the renewal process timely.

  • Obtains required financials and keys applications into centralized loan system for underwriting, communicates decisions to customer, and coordinates loan renewal closing.

  • Answers customer phone calls and provides quality customer service to consumer loan customers exhibiting a deep understanding of consumer credit.

  • Adheres to loan policies and procedures with complete documented files to ensure satisfactory reviews from internal and external audits.

  • Ability to meet individual goals and contribute in a team-oriented environment to ensure departmental and bank-wide goals are met.Sets and achieves challenging goals without direct supervision and contributes to a positive team spirit.

  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memorandums.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or ability to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Computer Skills

  • MS Office programs

  • Jack Henry Silverlake platform

  • LendingCycle

Other Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent telephone and customer service skills.

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must have strong time management skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

  • Must maintain punctual and regular attendance.

  • Must present a friendly, professional image and conduct.
