Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance. The Communications Interns will work year-round, starting September 2025.

What you'll do:

  • Write and edit a variety of communication and advertising pieces, including internal and external communications content, advertisements, scripts, and other company collateral
  • Work closely with communications and creativestaff to coordinate programs and projects
  • Assist with special event planning and execution
  • Must meet or exceed department attendance and timeliness requirements
  • Must work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with others

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Be a current college student pursuing a degree in Journalism, English, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or the humanities
  • Strong organizational skills with consistent attention to details and deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AP Style
