JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Filippelli Institute of the College of the Liberal Arts invites applications for a part-time Accessibility Assistant forEconomics courses.

We are seeking apart-timeassistant to support our instructional design team in makingEconomics course content accessible to all students. This role involves capturing images from course materials, using AI tools to generate text descriptions, and editing those descriptions to meet WCAG 2.1, Level AA guidelines.

Candidates must have completed 300- and 400-levelEconomics courses to ensure subject knowledge and accuracy in description editing.

Responsibilities:
  • Capture images fromEconomics course materials for accessibility processing.
  • Use AI tools to create initial text descriptions for each image.
  • Review and edit generated descriptions to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to maintain a consistent approach to accessibility acrossEconomics content.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of 300-level and 400-levelEconomics courses (required) to ensure a strong understanding ofEconomics concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
  • Interest in accessibility, educational technology, and inclusive educational practices.
  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed guidelines, and meet deadlines.
