POSITION SPECIFICS We are searching for a Research Faculty to fill the role of Senior Scientist for the Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Office at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. The Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Office (FDAO) is a trusted agent for government sponsors in the understanding of fluid and structure interaction by providing technical expertise in hydrodynamics, turbomachinery design, noise control and experimental design and execution. Research concentrations of FDAO include pump design, multi-phase flow simulations, vehicle control dynamics and computation methods development. Additionally, the candidate with be self-motivated, positive, and a quality conscious person with a desire for excellence. This position may be filled as either a Research and Development Engineer or a non-tenure Research Faculty. Your working location can be hybrid or fully on-site based out of the State College, PA or Reston, VA ARL offices. Occasional travel is required for off-site testing or technical exchange meetings, with frequent travel to sponsor locations within the Washington, DC area.
