Technical Training Lead

The Plant Technical Trainer will work with all levels of the organization to define the plant training needs as it pertains to job roles (technical, leadership and SPW) and prescribed loss stream, methods of delivery, trainer certification process, staffing and all associated costs, timing, tracking and assessment of training effectiveness. This will require the utilization and management of plant resources (classrooms, lab areas, online environments, trainers (PMS/UAW) etc.) to disseminate knowledge. Assist, coach and mentor participants and trainers through the PDCA process for the development of learnings. This position reporting to the Deputy Plant Manager, will be responsible for working with all centers to ensure the maintenance of current in-plant trainer's skill and tracking of all maintenance employee skill levels. Following defined corporate and plant processes to ensure ISO9001 requirements are met.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in related field
  • Experience in Training Program Development and Management
  • Manufacturing experience with Maintenance aptitude
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office esp. Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changes
  • Ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of Management and UAW
  • Experience in development of budgets
  • Ability to take multiple data streams and derive development needs
  • Ability to work with SME's and derive necessary information
  • Ability to equate actions to results
  • Have led teams to desired results on time and within budget
  • Familiar with PDCA and Problem-Solving Methodology
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment/terminology


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Training Curriculum Development
  • SPW Domain tools and methods (Notably task-based skill assessment)
  • Knowledge of SPW academy structure and training offerings
  • Lead meetings toward desired outputs
  • Supervisor experience
  • Experience with FIS, TMS
  • Instructional design experience: Classroom, Electronic, On-the-Job
  • Ability to use raw data to drive strategic plans to impact KPIs
  • Maintenance experience
  • Ability to read/create Radar Chart and skill matrix
  • SPW Methodology and associated tools
