Temple University's Department of Summer and Pre-College Programs is searching for an Assistant Director! Position Summary The role encompasses various facets of program management, from overseeing enrollment processes using LLEE and other tools, to strategically analyzing and projecting enrollment trends for improved recruiting outcomes. This role assists in the development and implementation of a coordinated recruiting strategy. The Assistant Director manages the pre-college recruitment calendar, builds relationships with high school counselors, represents Temple University at recruitment events and trains student workers to represent Temple at events in their absence. This person may also coordinate with internal departments that provide funding to pre-college to recruit students who meet specific demographic criteria in accordance with the funding requirements. The Assistant Director will develop and implement communication strategies, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for students and fostering parental engagement. This person will also take charge of the logistics for the out-of-classroom student experience in the residence hall and in other aspects of student life. To that effect, this role will assist in the supervision and training of a team of student workers, including residential pre-college mentors and a residential coordinator. This role will support this team to create a positive on-campus housing and student life experience that minimizes risk to the university and ensures compliance with best practices and legal requirements for working with minors on campus. Finally, this role will also manage the residential life and student activities budget, and coordinate with relevant internal and external partners to oversee logistics and spending in these areas. Lastly, the Assistant Director will assist with several aspects of data collection and reporting, such as creating and implementing the pre- and post-program student surveys, ensuring high rates of completion, and analyzing responses for trends. The Assistant Director will use this data to make recommendations for improved program strategy, policy, and procedure and will assist in the compilation of various reports for the Office of Summer and Pre-College Programs. This position is eligible for hybrid work in the Fall and Spring semesters and is required to be 100% on-site from May-August each year. This position is based at Main Campus and is part of the University College. The University College is responsible for the operations of the Ambler, Center City, and Harrisburg Campuses, as well as offering programs and activities across multiple Temple campuses and locations. This position requires the following background checks: criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting.
