SCHOOL THERAPIST - FULL TIME

INNOVATIONS ACADEMY

Innovations Academy, an ISBE approved therapeutic day school, has an full-time opportunity for a licensed therapist to join its dynamic staff with responsibility for providing services to Innovations Academy students from Elementary through High School.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Under the direction of the Principal, the School Therapist performs clinical functions to include assisting students in meeting their social, emotional, and academic needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical services for students within the school environment. The clinical services provided include crisis intervention and individual therapy addressing goals provided on the student IEP.

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood, IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, and their families.


Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in a mental health/human services field (counseling, social work, psychology) from an accredited college is REQUIRED. Minimum of two (2) years' of experience is preferred in a school, special education, or behavioral health setting, with direct experience in individual therapy. crisis intervention skills, and vocational/transitional planning and guidance. Strong clinical skills, with a majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LPC/LSW or an Illinois Certification Type 73 (School Social Worker) REQUIRED, LCPC/LCSW strongly preferred. Primary Scource Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
