Description and Requirements

Location: Lenovo US Fulfillment Center, Whitsett, NC
Schedule: Full-time, 5 days onsite per week
Availability: Occasional weekends and holidays as needed

At our US Fulfillment Center in Whitsett, NC, we drive excellence in manufacturing and logistics to support our Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG).

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Server Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize server production operations. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality output, process efficiency, and alignment with Lenovo's global manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design and Improvement: Designing and implementing new manufacturing processes, optimizing existing ones, and improving overall production efficiency.
  • Production Planning and Control: Managing production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products, and coordinating resources.
  • Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, analyzing production data for quality issues, and ensuring products meet quality standards.
  • Equipment Management: Selecting, installing, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, ensuring it is operating effectively.
  • Cost Reduction: Identifying opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, optimizing material usage, and improving production efficiency.
  • Technical Support: Providing technical expertise to other departments, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting the manufacturing team.
  • Collaboration: Working with other engineers, designers, and production personnel to optimize the entire manufacturing process.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, data analysis tools, and other relevant software.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in server manufacturing or technical production.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional and cross-geo projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Linux systems, server hardware, and enterprise fulfillment operations.

In essence, Manufacturing Engineers are the bridge between product design and the finished product, ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and produce high-quality goods. Ideal candidate must shown ability to work independently in high pressure result driven organization and can self managed and motivate cross functional team to drive business KPIs forward. Ideal candidate must work without significant supervision and shown leadership traits in past work experiences.
