About the Opportunity:

As a Waterjet Operator, you will set up the machine, load programs, load material, cut parts and tools, diagnose issues, and provide basic maintenance and care on the machine. You will also run the Shear or the Saw during longer running jobs on the Waterjet. As time permits, you may be cross trained to also run the Flatbed Lasers.

Location: Eastford, CT

This is a full-time role for 2nd Shift, working Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m..

Responsibilities:

  • Operating and maintaining water jet cutting machines.
  • Inspect own work using basic inspection equipment.
  • Responsible for getting first piece acceptance from the Quality Department.
  • Responsible for performing daily preventive maintenance.
  • Set up fixture per set up sheets.
  • Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to SQA sheets, counts, scrap, time, etc., according to Company policy.
  • Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.
  • Observes all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read and work from work order instructions.
  • Must have general computer skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good Mechanical skills
  • Good trouble shooting skills
  • Basic blueprint interpretation skills
  • CNC Experience
  • Hydraulic trouble shooting and repair experience
  • Forklift/ Man lift experience
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Self-starter/motivated team player

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools.
