Koinonia Community Solutions - 1405 Greenville Boulevard SW
Greenville, NC 27834 - is currently seeking several Afterschool Assistants.

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Afterschool Assistant to support our afterschool program. The assistant will work under the supervision of the Afterschool Site Coordinator to help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, supervising students, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children in the afterschool program.
  • Assist in planning and implementing educational and recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and homework help.
  • Provide support to lead instructors and maintain a structured and positive environment.
  • Manage transitions, snack times, and dismissal procedures efficiently.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful atmosphere where children feel valued and supported.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, staff, and program leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety regulations.


Work Schedule:
Part-time, typically weekday afternoons between 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM, during the school year.
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in any major.
  • Previous experience working with children in a school, daycare, or recreational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of children and maintain a positive and controlled environment.

  • CPR and First Aid certification recommended (or willingness to obtain).
